Principle Demolition, operating with a sustainability-first approach, partnered with Saint-Gobain’s Glass Forever programme to implement an efficient glass collection and recycling system. Through this initiative, every tonne of recycled glass cullet saved 1.2 tonnes of virgin raw materials. Collection began within 48 hours of the initial site visit using RoRo skips, ensuring a rapid and complete recovery process.
The project delivered long-term environmental benefits by conserving resources and promoting circular economy principles. Reclaimed wood from the site was repurposed into community items such as bird boxes and dining tables, while 60% of the 46.6 tonnes of wood collected was recycled into woodchip for particle board manufacturing or carbon-neutral fuel.
Key Outcomes:
50.3 tonnes of raw materials saved
29.3 tonnes of CO₂ emissions avoided
